Welcome & Overview

Kia ora Guest, and welcome to the Comfort Quilt class.

I’m so glad you’re here. This is a beginner-friendly, throw-sized quilt made with simple strips and blocks, so it’s a lovely project if piecing is still fairly new to you.

I first designed this quilt a few years ago for a friend who was feeling a little low, using colours I knew she would love. That’s why I think of it as my friendship quilt.

It’s a good pattern for gifting, donation quilts, or those moments when you want to make something warm and thoughtful without overcomplicating the process.

The construction is straightforward, fat quarter–friendly, and quick enough to make when a quilt is needed in a hurry. The colours and contrast are what really make it shine.

Grab your fabric and get comfortable. I’ll walk you through everything step by step, from cutting right through to the final binding stitch.

Finished Size

  • Quilt 68"
  • Block 17"

I also had this quilt published in Make Modern Magazine I think it was Issue 7.
